BREAKING NEWS: coming live from camp Nou, Hansi Flick has identified Joshua Kimmich as one of his priority signings at Barcelona. According to reports Barcelona will make a move to see Kimmich move to camp Nou as the first signing for the summer.

Barcelona have shown significant interest in acquiring Joshua Kimmich this summer, but Real Madrid appears to also be eyeing the Bayern Munich star. Reports from Bild suggest that Kimmich is open to the idea of joining Real Madrid, potentially stepping into the role left by Toni Kroos, who has announced his retirement.

A move to Real Madrid would reunite Kimmich with Carlo Ancelotti and the club has the financial means to accommodate his salary. In contrast, Barcelona might find it challenging to afford Kimmich due to their financial constraints.

Despite Hansi Flick taking over as Barcelona’s new head coach, Bild indicates that a move for Kimmich to the Catalan club isn’t very likely. The main issue for Barcelona is their financial situation; they would need to offload a high-earning player to make room for Kimmich’s salary.

Kimmich, whose contract with Bayern runs until 2025, has yet to decide on renewing it. He might be waiting to see how things develop under Bayern’s new coach, Vincent Kompany. Kompany’s appointment was somewhat unexpected, and it remains unclear what role he envisions for Kimmich within the team.
