Borussia Dortmund’s full-back, Ramy Bensebaini, has expressed his aspiration to eventually join Manchester United before retiring from professional football.

Bensebaini, primarily a left-back with the ability to also perform in central positions, made a move to Dortmund as a free agent this summer after spending four years at Borussia Monchengladbach. During his tenure at Monchengladbach, he exhibited his prowess by scoring 25 goals and contributing eight assists across 113 appearances.

Despite his recent transition to Dortmund, Bensebaini has disclosed his perpetual drive to progress in his career and has highlighted a potential move to Manchester United as a future objective.

“I’ve always aimed to continuously evolve and reach the highest levels possible, which is why I strive to join clubs of greater magnitude than my previous ones,” he conveyed to the Fennec Chronicle. “My objective is to advance for as long as my body allows me to perform. We’ll see what unfolds with Manchester United. I’m approaching 30, but let’s see what happens, hopefully with divine assistance!”

Although injuries have presented challenges for Manchester United and their manager, Erik ten Hag, rectifying the left-back position doesn’t stand as an immediate priority for the club.

Injuries have affected key players like Luke Shaw, and Tyrell Malacia has been sidelined for the entire season following surgery. Sergio Reguilon was brought in on a temporary basis during the summer to provide cover and has been sharing responsibilities with Diogo Dalot.

However, the anticipated return of Shaw and Malacia in the upcoming weeks is expected to alleviate the club’s concerns regarding the left-back position.

Regarding the defensive setup, Manchester United faces decisions concerning the contracts of center-backs Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof, as well as right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka, all of whom have contracts expiring at the season’s end.

While the option exists to extend their contracts by a year, Manchester United has yet to finalize any decisions on this matter.
