SHOCKING NEWS: coming from Fabrizio Romano, Arsenal coach has told the board to sell three of Arsenal star as he can’t win the Premier League title with them in the team. He said “Arsenal will struggle to win the Premier League with this players unless the are sold or become more prolific. “We [have] nine goals [between thsi players so far], so if we ever start to score goals, then we can win this league… if they stay at the same pace, then it’s going to be difficult to win the Premier League.”
Club legend Thierry Henry believes that unless Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, and Gabriel Martinelli become more prolific, Arsenal will struggle to win the Premier League.
When they play Brighton on Sunday, Arsenal, who is currently third in the standings, could take over the top spot if they win and Liverpool loses to Manchester United.
It is understandable that the Gunners have been linked to a number of No. 9s in the January transfer window given that five teams in the league, including three below them, have scored more goals than them this season.
Mikel Arteta is rumoured to have Ivan Toney, Victor Osimhen, and Dusan Vlahovic at the top of his shopping list. Henry, the club’s record goalscorer, believes they need to improve in some way.
A critical evaluation?
“…If you think of the front three of Man City, Liverpool, Aston Villa and Tottenham and look at our front three, you can take it two ways,” he stated to CBS Sports.
“We can win this league if we ever start scoring goals, which we have nine goals between Saka, Jesus, and Martinelli so far. It will be challenging to win the Premier League if they continue to play at the same speed.”
Saka has assisted on six of the team’s nine goals this season, so Henry’s criticism of him may not be entirely justified, but the Brazilian duo’s two goals apiece make it obvious that more firepower is needed.
Saka and Eddie Nketiah have both scored five goals, but Nketiah, a graduate of Hale End, doesn’t seem to have Arteta’s full trust. The Gunners may profit from this as they try to raise money for one of the previously mentioned No. 9s.
Since joining from Chelsea for £65 million, Kai Havertz has struggled to score goals, but he has primarily been used in midfield.
