Following a dismal start to the season, the Bayern Munich star has lost favour with the German powerhouse, and they plan to let go of the 28-year-old in 2024. Bryan Zaragoza, a gifted Spaniard, has already been signed to replace him; he will arrive from Granada next summer for a mere €13 million.

Since Gnabry isn’t getting any younger, Bayern’s decision to make him available may have been influenced by the injury he is currently recovering from. The right-winger is a strong candidate to leave and replenish the Bavarian’s coffers with money for another spending binge, given his lacklustre performances before his injury and his high salary of €19 million annually.

The defending Bundesliga champions are once again hatching some ambitious deals, with Barcelona star Ronald Araujo at the top of their shortlist, after spending €150 million on Harry Kane and Kim Min-jae in the summer. The German side has stated that they are willing to pay whatever it takes to acquire the Uruguayan, even though a deal seems unlikely.

Gnabry to Manchester United?
The availability of Gnabry might catch the eye of Man Utd’s hiring team. A move to Old Trafford has been speculatively linked to the German in recent months due to Antony’s dismal form and Jadon Sancho’s banishment by Erik ten Hag.

Journalist Christian Falk of BILD claims that Gnabry will cost €55 million to sign, which could be problematic considering his advanced age and €40 million estimated transfer value (ETV). Falk told CaughtOffside, “It’s a lot of money for a player who is, at the moment, injured and wasn’t in great form prior.”

Given that even an injured Gnabry would be an improvement over Antony right now, it might be a risk worth taking for United. Any firepower the Red Devils can acquire in January could help them challenge to at least get back into Europe via the Premier League, as they have already been eliminated from both the Champions League and the Carabao Cup.
