BREAKING NEWS: Reports coming from Fabrizio Romano says that Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is prepared to pay and do whatever it takes to sign Victor Osimhen from Napoli after the player agreed personal terms with Chelsea. It is reported that Chelsea is ready to pay €100 million and also involve Chelsea star player in this deal which will see the Chelsea star leave after just coming in last summer.

Chelsea are known to be in the market for a No.9 during the January transfer window, with summer arrival Nicolas Jackson not providing the instant solution to the club’s finishing problem that they might have wished.

Instead, they are hoping that Osimhen, a Nigerian international, can propel Mauricio Pochettino’s team back up the Premier League standings following a sluggish start to the campaign.

FootballTransfers has learned that, despite some doubts about their ability to pay the striker due to Financial Fair Play (FFP) restrictions, Chelsea is adamant about signing Osimhen and is even willing to smash their transfer record in order to do so. At €121 million, Enzo Fernandez was acquired by the club in January 2023 from Benfica, making him the most expensive acquisition to date.

Arsenal is reportedly also interested in the striker, so a sizable offer will probably be needed to seal the deal.

Napoli is optimistic about Osimhen’s future.
Aurelio De Laurentiis, the owner of Napoli, is optimistic this week about Osimhen agreeing to a new contract with the Serie A winners, even though the player has had a challenging six months with the team since leading them to the Scudetto last season.

The 24-year-old is involved in a controversy on TikTok where he claims he was racially abused by the club’s official account. Additionally, he didn’t get along well with former head coach Rudi Garcia, who the team fired shortly after.

Meanwhile, Napoli’s window of opportunity with Osimhen is closing. His contract expires in 2025, and they might have to sell him if no new one is signed before the summer.

Although De Laurentiis has historically been optimistic about the amount he could get for the former Lille striker, as the player’s contract is about to expire, his negotiating position becomes more and more vulnerable.

Even though the president has said that a new agreement is imminent, nothing changed from when this was said earlier in the summer.

Chelsea is actively monitoring the situation and prepared to take all necessary steps to secure the superstar in what would be another massive transfer under Boehly. Chelsea may even decide to sell Armando Broja in order to help finance a transfer for Osimhen.
