Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat at Manchester United on Wednesday left Mauricio Pochettino’s team in the middle of the table and their supporters even more dejected about the state of their team since Boehly took over in May of last year.
In fact, fans have grown numb to the startling amounts being spent due to the memed transfers, especially in light of the fact that the team now looks to be more imbalanced, understaffed, and of lower quality than it has ever been.
Bohely’s decision to fully commit to a youthful rebuild is a reflection of his inexperience, given that players such as Mykhailo Mudryk, Nicolas Jackson, and Moises Caicedo are all unimpressive and inexperienced in their decision-making.

Making a joke of Boehly’s spending, Pochettino has been forced to work with a small group of unconvincing youngsters who are under pressure to live up to exorbitant pricetags, leaving Chelsea without a clear direction or belief for the future.
Pochettino’s football has been uninspired and unproductive, but despite the record-breaking outlay, the former Tottenham manager has not been equipped to carry out any coherent game plan, which is costing Chelsea their future.
Despite being injured since the beginning of November, England international James Maddison has played in more goals than any other Blues player. Chelsea reportedly decided not to challenge Tottenham to sign the forward in the summer because they thought the forward was too old for their policy that only allowed players under 25 to be hired.
Despite only being 27, Maddison would have become the third-oldest player in Chelsea’s roster. Pochettino’s team lacks depth due to Boehly’s unwillingness to add experience to his youthful squad, and they have overreached their financial fair play obligations with little to show for it.
Lesley Ugochukwu, a €27 million midfielder who has yet to establish himself in the Premier League, has played 221 minutes in the Premier League this season, accounting for nearly €200 million of the €465 million Chelsea spent this summer.
Apart from James, the remaining funds were allocated to players who have been sidelined due to injury throughout the entire campaign, on loan, or simply too young and inexperienced to be trusted. As a result, Pochettino started with a nine-man bench at Old Trafford who had made a combined total of 37 Premier League appearances.
While Christopher Nkunku’s injury return will certainly give Pochettino’s team a new threat, Chelsea will cling to the optimism of their one encouraging acquisition in Cole Palmer. However, it seems Boehly’s costly rebuild has raised more questions than it has answers.
