This is the part of the season where injuries and games are piling up. After both Alisson Becker and Diogo Jota left the Manchester City match with more wear and tear, Liverpool is once again under pressure.

In the 54th minute, Diogo Jota was substituted due to discomfort in his left leg. The player is currently undergoing additional scans this week to determine the extent of the problem. But it appears likely that he will miss the match against LASK in the middle of the week, and possibly Fulham on the weekend as well. I hope it’s nothing major and that he won’t have to work for a while.

Caoimhin Kelleher has been trusted in goal for the Europa League, so Alisson Becker wouldn’t have been playing in the middle of the week anyway. However, Kelleher might see even more action. Alisson didn’t start against Manchester City because, just minutes before the game’s conclusion, when the Reds had used up all of their substitutes, he seemed to have a strained muscle. However, Jürgen Klopp disclosed that he had a hamstring strain following the match. He wasn’t rendered unconscious by it, which suggests that it was only a minor wound. This week, he will also be scanned at the AXA Training Centre for verification.

Andy Robertson is on the long-term injury list; his dislocated shoulder will prevent him from returning until at least January. Thiago Alcantara and Stefan Bajcetic, the Spanish contingent of the Reds, continue their unlucky runs this season. Due to their separate injuries, they are both out indefinitely.

The bench is beginning to appear a little thin, particularly in positions of importance like goal and left back. Although Kostas Tsimikas is playing a lot of games, he has performed well for Robertson thus far. With Luke Chambers waiting in the wings, Liverpool will be in serious trouble if something were to happen to him.

Prepare for the winter fixtures by lighting prayer candles for your favourite players’ thighs, ankles, and hamstrings.
