German media reports that Timo Werner has been contacted by Manchester United.

After spending €53 million to move to Stamford Bridge, the German left Chelsea after two unsuccessful years and returned to RB Leipzig in 2022 for a meagre €20 million. Werner preferred the more relaxed atmosphere of Leipzig over the hectic pace of London and the intense media attention that came with being a Blues player.

While acknowledging that Werner has no plans to move at this time and that there is nothing to the Madrid connections, Plettenberg maintains that this story will be interesting to follow in the upcoming weeks. This confirms a recent BILD report that claimed the forward is focused on regaining his spot in Marco Rose’s squad and is not considering leaving Leipzig, despite his interest.
