The announcement of Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s involvement in Manchester United is almost imminent.

As a lifetime Red Devils supporter, Ratcliffe is expected to invest approximately £1.25 billion in Manchester United in exchange for roughly 25% of the team. He’s probably going to take over football operations.

Nearly a year has passed since the Glazer family made their announcement that they might sell the team. On November 22, 2022, the shocking revelation was made, much to the relief of United supporters who had become weary of the Americans’ long-term management of the team.

However, the story may finally be coming to an end because, according to the BBC, an announcement might be made as soon as next week.

Ratcliffe has already changed his original proposal to purchase the 69% of the company from the Glazers. According to multiple reports over the past six months, the owners had intended to sell the entire club, but no one has complied with their demands.

Sheikh Jassim, a billionaire from Qatar, said in his withdrawal of interest last month that the Glazers’ valuation had not been satisfied by his last offer for United. He was rumoured to be offering £5 billion, which is roughly twice Manchester United’s current market value.

Given the condition of the team and its facilities, the Glazers have come under fire for their unduly high value of United.

It was “impossible to imagine” that the Nice owner would have consented to be a “silent partner” at the team he supports, according to sources “with a close working knowledge of Ratcliffe” who spoke with BBC Sport.

Sir Dave Brailsford, a former British Cycling performance director, is anticipated to be lured to Old Trafford as well.
