One Liverpool player might receive a substantial offer this summer, and he is prepared to consider it.

The arrival of Arne Slot marks a new era for Liverpool, generating excitement among Reds fans eager to see how the Dutchman will perform at Anfield as Jurgen Klopp’s successor.

Slot faces a challenging task, particularly if key Liverpool players opt to leave during the upcoming transfer window in June.

Alisson Becker has been a pivotal figure at Liverpool since Klopp acquired him from AS Roma in the summer of 2018 for £66.8 million (BBC). The Brazilian goalkeeper’s impact was immediate, significantly elevating the team’s performance. Recognized as one of the world’s top goalkeepers, Alisson has been instrumental in Liverpool’s success.

With Klopp’s departure, uncertainty looms over the future of several Liverpool players, including Alisson. Reports from early May indicate that clubs in Saudi Arabia are preparing an enticing contract offer to lure Alisson to the Middle East.

Rudy Galetti recently disclosed that despite Alisson’s preference to remain in Europe, he is open to considering the substantial offer being finalized for him. The journalist tweeted: “Allison Becker remains among the main targets for the Saudi League, all confirmed. The monster offer to convince the Brazilian will be formalised soon. The Liverpool GK prefers to stay in Europe but is also open to listening to the proposal.”

Liverpool, however, is prepared for the possibility of Alisson’s departure. Although it is highly unlikely, given that Alisson still has three years remaining on his contract and Liverpool has no pressure to sell, they have a contingency plan. Fabrizio Romano has also affirmed that Alisson will not be sold.

If Alisson decides to leave, Liverpool can promote Caoimhin Kelleher to the starting goalkeeper position. Kelleher has proven his capability over the past two seasons, playing 26 games in the 2023/24 season and earning praise from Klopp, who noted his development into a ‘really good goalkeeper.’

While Liverpool is confident in Kelleher’s ability to step up if needed, it is anticipated that Alisson will remain with the club this summer.
