Manchester United are optimistic about the availability of Bruno Fernandes and Scott McTominay for their Premier League showdown with Arsenal later today.

Club skipper Fernandes was absent from Monday’s disappointing defeat at Crystal Palace due to injury, marking the first time he missed a United game since joining the club. He had been seen wearing a protective cast on his wrist the previous week. However, the Portugal international returned to training this week, alongside McTominay, who also sat out the trip to London.

Marcus Rashford is in contention to make his comeback after his injury in the FA Cup semi-final against Coventry City.

Lisandro Martinez returned to training but is not expected to feature this weekend.

On the other hand, Mason Mount suffered another setback and will miss the upcoming fixture.

Defensive concerns persist for United, with Harry Maguire joining the injury list. While there’s hope for his availability for the FA Cup final against Manchester City, his Premier League season may be over. Jonny Evans returned to fitness but ten Hag may have to rely on him and Casemiro once again.

Raphael Varane, Victor Lindelof, Willy Kambwala, Tyrell Malacia, and Luke Shaw remain sidelined. Shaw had been nearing his return, but a minor setback means the FA Cup final is now a more realistic target for him.

Arsenal, meanwhile, have enjoyed a clean bill of health lately. However, Bukayo Saka and Takehiro Tomiyasu are doubtful for the clash with United. Saka sustained an injury in the match against Bournemouth, while Tomiyasu missed training earlier in the week.
