With exceptions such as Endo and Thiago Alcantara, who is expected to depart in the summer, Liverpool’s midfield options are predominantly younger players.

Jones highlighted the potential of young talents such as Curtis Jones, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Harvey Elliott, and Ryan Gravenberch. Additionally, emerging prospects like Stefan Bajcetic and Bobby Clark further strengthen Liverpool’s midfield depth. Given this wealth of young talent, Jones questioned the necessity of pursuing established midfielders like Kimmich, aged 29, or Barella, aged 27.

In Jones’s view, Liverpool’s squad planning for the upcoming summer transfer window will involve fine-tuning rather than overhauling.
