Amorim, currently managing Sporting Lisbon, and Nagelsmann, in charge of the German national team, are reportedly being considered alongside Xabi Alonso as potential candidates for the managerial position at Liverpool.

Amorim, aged 39, has caught Liverpool’s attention due to Sporting’s impressive performance this season and his notable success in developing the team in recent years. Sporting currently leads the Portuguese top flight by one point, with a game in hand over second-place Benfica. Additionally, they have progressed to the last-16 stage of the Europa League. It is anticipated that Amorim will be interviewed for the Liverpool job.

Nagelsmann, whose most recent club managerial role was at Bayern Munich, was dismissed in March last year before assuming the role of Germany’s national team manager. His contract is set to expire after this summer’s European Championships. However, one potential hurdle is that he would be unavailable to oversee pre-season training at any club until July.

While Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou was initially considered a potential replacement, sources have indicated that he will decline any offers to leave this summer and is not regarded as a viable candidate by Liverpool. Similarly, Brighton boss Roberto De Zerbi has been under consideration but is not ranked as highly as Alonso, Nagelsmann, or Amorim.
