Last year, there were strong rumors suggesting that Nketiah, aged 24, would leave Arsenal, but he ultimately stayed at the Emirates Stadium. However, sources have disclosed that Fenerbahce is eyeing Nketiah as a potential replacement for Edin Dzeko, should the Bosnian striker depart this summer. Dzeko, who turns 38 in March, has been prolific for Fenerbahce since joining from Inter Milan in 2023, with 22 goals in 32 appearances across all competitions. Nevertheless, his advancing age and expiring contract in 2025 have prompted Fenerbahce to explore options, including a potential move to Al-Hilal in the Saudi Pro League.

With Nketiah falling down the pecking order at Arsenal this season, despite Gabriel Jesus’ injury, he has not been favored for Premier League starts in 2024. Instead, Kai Havertz and Leandro Trossard have been preferred, signaling a probable departure for Nketiah come summer due to his lack of playing time. Crystal Palace made an unsuccessful attempt to secure Nketiah in January, with Arsenal declining their offer. However, they may compete with Fenerbahce for his signature in the upcoming transfer window. Borussia Dortmund also holds an interest in Nketiah, although their intentions remain uncertain.

Arsenal’s attention seems to be shifting towards nurturing 21-year-old forward Mika Biereth, currently on loan at SK Sturm Graz. This suggests that selling Nketiah to pave the way for Biereth’s promotion to the first team next season is a realistic scenario. Despite his limited starts, Nketiah has contributed six goals and five assists in 32 appearances for Arsenal this season.
