According to reports from The Athletic, Spanish powerhouse Barcelona is considering selling their highly-regarded forward, Robert Lewandowski, during the upcoming summer transfer window. Despite his impressive track record at Bayern Munich, the Polish veteran has struggled to replicate his previous form since joining Camp Nou two summers ago. Nonetheless, Lewandowski has managed to net 18 goals for the Blaugrana in 34 appearances across all competitions this season.

In recent matches, Lewandowski has shown glimpses of his goal-scoring prowess, finding the back of the net five times in his last four games, including a goal against Napoli in the UEFA Champions League on February 21st. However, The Athletic suggests that Barcelona could entertain offers for the 35-year-old striker, especially if they receive a lucrative proposal from Saudi Arabia.

Barcelona’s financial challenges are well-documented, and Lewandowski could represent an opportunity for the club to generate funds in the transfer market. Yet, a significant obstacle Barcelona may encounter is Lewandowski’s existing contract, which is set to expire in 2025 with an option for extension by an additional year.

Despite the potential for a transfer, The Athletic reports that Lewandowski appears content at Camp Nou and currently harbors no intentions of departing Barcelona next summer. Since joining the club, Lewandowski has been a productive asset, contributing 51 goals and 14 assists in 80 appearances for Barcelona.
