EXCLUSIVE NEWS: According to Italian renowned sport journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea are no longer willing sell Gallagher as the player is still much admired at Chelsea but are likely to sell two of their star player owing to Financial Fair Play (FFP). Gallagher unlikely to join Spurs given Chelsea’s forced January sale.

Footballwave has learned that, despite rumours to the contrary, Tottenham is not likely to sign Conor Gallagher during the January transfer window.

In Chelsea’s domain, the midfielder remains highly valued, prompting a condition that their London rivals must exceed the £60 million mark to engage in any deal. Financial constraints restrain Spurs from meeting this demand during the winter transfer period due to Financial Fair Play (FFP) regulations. Consequently, their pursuit of Gallagher is likely to pause until summer. The midfielder, a standout for Chelsea this season, holds immense importance for the team’s performance in the midfield. Chelsea is reluctant to part ways with him, while Tottenham lacks the financial capability to secure his move to North London at present.

On another front, Trevah Chalobah’s continued injury sidelines any possibility of his departure. His absence due to a thigh injury sustained in August has seen him miss 24 games this season. Although Roma, under former Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho, express interest, indications point towards Chalobah staying put at Stamford Bridge until his contract expires in 2028.

Contrarily, Ian Maatsen seems poised to exit Chelsea’s ranks, with Borussia Dortmund closely monitoring his status. Any transfer of the Dutch player would augment the club’s transfer budget. Currently, Chelsea’s financial strategy relies on selling to facilitate potential January window acquisitions.

Mauricio Pochettino harbors hopes of strengthening the squad for the latter part of the season. However, the team’s adherence to FFP necessitates offloading players before making new additions. Some scouted players, like Assane Diao, might find their way to Brentford, despite a seemingly modest release clause of £26 million.
