Man United should “get rid” of Ten Hag despite their amazing winning streak.

Erik ten Hag is still under pressure even after his team defeated a very subpar Chelsea team 2-1 in the middle of the week. The 53-year-old is not having an easy time at Old Trafford, with the dressing room reportedly divided on the manager and several transfer questions hanging over Man Utd due to the Dutchman’s signing policy and treatment of players like Jadon Sancho.

In fact, there are increasing calls for Man Utd to move on from Ten Hag. However, Ten Hag shouldn’t worry about being fired based on statistics. With 52 wins in 84 games, the Dutchman is still Manchester United’s “winningest” permanent manager with a win percentage of 61.9%, which is higher than Sir Alex Ferguson’s 59.67% (over an amazing 1500 games).

But having a positive win percentage is insufficient, and Jose Mourinho and Ole Gunner Solskjaer, Ten Hag’s predecessors, were not saved by it either. In fact, Ian Wright, a legend of Arsenal, believes the Red Devils should let go of Ten Hag as soon as possible.

“Ditch, I’d get rid of him, I’d move him on,” Wright stated in an interview with footballwave. I believe that the way Man United is playing can be explained by looking only at Ange [Postecoglou] and how quickly he changed things at Tottenham. I also believe that United has a play style and certain things they want to accomplish, and I haven’t seen that with United up to this point.”

Given everything that has happened, I believe that in 18 months, Man United should be playing in a particular way. Right now, they ought to be in charge of and winning games. Therefore, I would probably get rid of it.
