Arsenal topped the table with a 1-0 victory over Brentford away from home, following a 1-1 draw between Manchester City and Liverpool at the Etihad Stadium earlier in the day.

Of course, it’s far too early to seriously predict where the title will end up this year, but Romano offered some observations on how things are looking so far. Liverpool may have surprised some by indicating that they are in a three-horse race for the trophy.

Although they finished outside the top four last season, Jurgen Klopp’s team looks much better this year and did well to salvage a point against Man City.

Romano believes that Pep Guardiola’s team, the current champions, should win the league again, but he also believes that Arsenal and Liverpool should be there as well.

“Arsenal capitalised on the fact that Liverpool and Manchester City traded points in the early game yesterday. After the Gunners’ 1-1 draw at the Etihad Stadium, Kai Havertz struck late to give the team a 1-0 victory and move them to the top of the Premier League standings, according to Romano.

As anticipated, the race for the title this year appears to be quite open. Nobody is escaping with it, and I anticipate that in the months to come, things will stay close. Arsenal has impressed me, and I see them competing all the way for the championship. Although Arsenal is and always will be a threat, I would still say that Man City is still the favourite.

Liverpool has also demonstrated that they are prepared to battle; although they are currently third, the race for the top spot is extremely close, so it promises to be an exciting one this season. I thought it would mostly be between City and Arsenal, but it appears Liverpool will also be participating.
