Liverpool has been keeping an eye on the Frenchman in 2023. He chose to stay at OGC Nice for an additional year, despite their desire to sign him during the summer transfer window as part of their midfield rebuild.

Juventus and Inter Milan are both interested in Thuram, but Corriere dello Sport reports that Liverpool has the best chance of acquiring Thuram because of their greater financial resources.

According to Footballwave, he had personal terms agreed to join Jurgen Klopp’s revamped team in the summer, but the move never happened. However, it might happen during the summer transfer window of 2024.

Rafaela Pimenta, Thuram’s Brazilian agent, has now stated that a January transfer is not happening.

Via Fabrizio Romano, she stated to Corriere dello Sport: “Juventus move? Too early to tell. I have no idea what will happen yet.

“He’s an important player for OGC Nice; big moves don’t usually happen in January.”

Thuram would be a great substitute for Andre if Liverpool needs a defensive midfielder. It’s unclear if Liverpool is still interested in Andre.

Being more than six inches taller than his Brazilian counterpart, he is better suited for the no. 6 position.

Thuram can still hold his own against the press and has the quickness and strength to burst through midfield despite his considerable height.

The French midfield player, who was making £28,000 a week at OGC Nice, would get a nice pay boost if he moved to Anfield.

Liverpool needs to be careful not to lose out on the chance to make additional midfield investments in January.
