Speaking exclusively to CaughtOffside for his Daily Briefing column, Romano notes that with 2024 quickly approaching, Bayern Munich needs to talk with player representatives and internally about a number of contract situations.

Sane is a top priority for the Bundesliga’s biggest clubs, and they plan to offer the winger a new contract that will extend his stay at the Allianz Arena and include a sizable salary increase as well as bonuses. His current contract expires in 2025.

With little time left on his current contract, English clubs have been keeping an eye on the German international, who has been among the best players in Europe this season. Liverpool and Man City are reportedly interested in the winger.

“Bayern Munich have many contract situations that they need to discuss internally and with player’s representatives, with Leroy Sane falling into this category,” Romano wrote in a piece about Sane’s Bayern situation. The summer of 2025 will mark Sane’s contract expiration, and Bayern must still negotiate a new agreement with the player.

Given that Sane has been among the German team’s best players this season, I believe Bayern plans to make the winger a very significant offer. The player has been offered a new contract that will not only extend his time with the team by several years but also increase his salary, which includes bonuses. Bayern is working hard to persuade him to stay, and they are currently preparing this proposal.

England is showing interest in Sane, but nothing substantial has happened. Bayern has made it a top priority to extend the player’s contract because of this.
