BREAKING NEWS: Reports coming from Chelsea has stated that Chelsea’s superstar is leaving the club after receiving offers from Saudi Arabia. The midfield player has expressed his dissatisfaction with the amount of playing time he has had this season.

Trevoh Chalobah, who came very close to leaving Chelsea in the summer, is 99% certain to depart during this January's transfer window.

Fabrizio Romano said as much in an exclusive interview with CaughtOffside for his Daily Briefing column. The transfer news expert said that the player and the Blues agreed it would be best if he moved on this winter.

Chalobah has proven to be a useful member of Chelsea’s squad in recent years, but it looks more and more unlikely that he will ever play a regular role at Stamford Bridge. As such, he would be better off taking advantage of the next opportunity to try a new challenge elsewhere.

Even so, Romano notes that it’s unclear who might be interested in signing the 24-year-old in January as Bayern Munich has ceased negotiations after pursuing him towards the end of the summer.

Following Chalobah’s departure, Chelsea will probably look to add a defensive replacement. Romano hasn’t named any players specifically yet, but that may change after other transactions have been completed.

“I think Chelsea will sell Trevoh Chalobah to another team in the centre back position; it seems 99% likely that he wants to play football,” Romano

Chelsea thinks that splitting up in January would be the best course of action. Since a deal with Bayern fell through back in August, there is no longer a formal negotiation going on, so I don’t have any updates on clubs pursuing him.

“After that, I would anticipate Chelsea attempting to sign a new centre back. They are looking into available options, but nothing has been decided upon yet. They are still weighing their options, but they want to cover this position in 2024 for sure.
