BREAKING NEWS: Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that talks are going between Liverpool and Brazil star. The Reds are eager to recruit the £20 million center-half in January to improve Jurgen Klopp’s defensive options, therefore Liverpool officials are flying to Brazil for talks on the matter.

To try to convince Lucas Beraldo to join Liverpool, the club's executives have flown to Brazil. The centre half might cost the Reds up to £20 million during the January transfer window.

According to Footballwave, Liverpool’s executives have travelled to Brazil to discuss the £20 million center-half Lucas Beraldo in an attempt to address their defensive problems.

After a game last week, Beraldo, 19, who currently plays for Sao Paulo, met with members of the Reds team, who intend to bring him to Anfield during the January transfer window.

The Brazil under-20 international looks to be near the top of Jurgen Klopp’s wishlist, provided the price is right. Klopp’s team is in dire need of a new defender to anchor their backline.

According to a story in The Sun, Liverpool’s head negotiator, Bryan Beraldo, who stands six feet one inch, played as a central defender in Sao Paulo’s two home games in November, which ended in 1-0 victories over Cruzeiro and Bragantino.

Beraldo, who turns 20 this month, has been a member of the Sao Paulo team since 2020. He debuted professionally in May of that same year at the 2022 Copa Sudamericana.

He might be able to join Liverpool immediately, and the Reds need to act fast to make sure they defeat other teams that might be drawn to the talented teenager.

With two games left in their Europa League group and a League Cup quarterfinal on the horizon, Klopp’s team is looking ahead as they continue to fight on several fronts in the present campaign. The team conceded 10 goals in their first 11 games of the Premier League season.

On the other hand, Klopp criticised Liverpool for their subpar defence in Thursday night’s loss to Toulouse.

The Reds’ 1-1 draw with Luton Town last weekend was marred by a boisterous atmosphere at Kenilworth Road, which the German manager claimed the team struggled to handle and that a similar situation had arisen in France.

Fluminense midfielder Andre Trindade is another Brazilian player whom Klopp’s team is thinking in bringing to the Premier League, in addition to Beraldo.

The 22-year-old was linked to Liverpool in the summer, but last weekend’s Copa Libertadores victory by Fluminense earned him more praise.
