SHOCKING NEWS: Liverpool’s coach Jurgen klopp has announced after yesterday’s match that this season will be his last as Liverpool’s coach and he’s ready for a new adventure with another club and it’s been confirmed that a 41-year old impressive manager has been choosen by Liverpool’s board as his successor once the season end. Negotiations are still ongoing to put things in place.
Gary Lineker thinks Xabi Alonso, the manager of Bayer Leverkusen, might eventually succeed Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
In an interview with Footballwave, Lineker hinted that Alonso would soon be heading into a major position.
The Spaniard is leading Leverkusen to the top of the Bundesliga and is performing admirably there.
Alonso’s team has won nine of their first ten league games, putting them two points ahead of the defending champions Bayern Munich. This season, they have not lost.
Furthermore, Lineker believes that the 41-year-old will eventually play for Liverpool or Real Madrid.
Lineker supports Alonso to take Klopp’s place.
Speaking on Footballwave, Lineker supported Alonso to succeed Carlo Ancelotti at Real Madrid or even to unseat Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool when his tenure is over.
“I would imagine there is every possibility that Carlo Ancelotti ends up there as manager of a certain Jude Bellingham once he walks away or is pushed out, as is often the case at Real Madrid,” the man stated.
Given his ties to the team and his early management success, Alonso would be a desirable option for Liverpool in the future.
However, it doesn’t seem probable that the 41-year-old will get a chance at Anfield very soon.
It would be shocking if the German manager left Liverpool soon because Klopp is dedicated to leading another reconstruction.
Even though the Reds and Luton Town drew 1-1 yesterday, Klopp’s team has had a strong start to the season.
Under the German’s leadership, Liverpool appear to be gradually returning to their peak and are once again assembling a formidable team.
