Following Thiago Alcantara’s most recent injury setback, supporters of Liverpool may be wondering if they will ever get to watch the Spaniard play with Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai. Since arriving, the two summer additions have been a huge popular at Anfield, with Szoboszlai in particular winning over the supporters.

So far, they have both started every Premier League match, with Ryan Gravenberch, Wataru Endo, and Curtis Jones switching places as the third midfield player. However, Thiago hasn’t yet been included in Jurgen Klopp’s updated midfield lineup.

Thiago made it through the extensive midfield makeover that Liverpool underwent this past summer, but he hasn’t played this year as he continues to heal from an injury. When healthy, the Spanish star is regarded as one of Liverpool’s most brilliant players, but he hasn’t played since the end of April.

Klopp said on Friday that Thiago will “be back for the start of the New Year,” adding to the series of setbacks for his anticipated return. The Liverpool manager, who expressed his love for the midfield player last year, will definitely miss him greatly.

In April 2022, Klopp declared, “He’s a phenomenal player—wow.” Naturally, when he came here, I was aware of that. He had a bad start to the season due to injuries and other issues, but when healthy, he can really bring a beat to the game.

“He has an amazing sense of timing, he has a remarkable grasp of the game, and he has an eye for it. I simply lacked the feet to utilise it, but I saw that a lot during football games as well. Thus, praise God, he does! I’m sure you had fun with it; I did too.
