Joshua Zirkzee has quickly made a strong impression at Manchester United, both on and off the field. After his €42.5 million transfer from Bologna this summer, the 23-year-old forward has adapted well under Erik ten Hag, already scoring his first Premier League goal. However, Zirkzee’s impact isn’t limited to his on-pitch performances. He’s also trying to persuade one of football’s brightest stars, Jamal Musiala, to join him at Old Trafford.

Musiala, Zirkzee’s former teammate at Bayern Munich, recently revealed that the Dutch striker has been encouraging him to make the move to Manchester United. In an interview with *Welt am Sonntag*, the 21-year-old German international shared, “You always joke around with friends and dream of playing together in a team one day. The jokes go both ways: I also told Josh that he should come back to Bayern. But you shouldn’t take that too seriously.”

Despite the lighthearted nature of their exchanges, Musiala made it clear that he is content at Bayern Munich. Having spent his youth career with Chelsea and even representing England at the youth level before committing to Germany, Musiala is now focused on his current role at Bayern, where he has become one of the club’s standout players.

When asked if he could see himself playing for another top club, given that his contract with Bayern expires in 2026, Musiala responded, “I am very happy at FC Bayern and fully focused on our goals with the club and the national team. I don’t think too much about where I will be playing in five years. Things can always change quickly in the world of football.”

Currently, Musiala is one of the most valuable young players in the sport, with an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €114.1 million, slightly down from his peak value of €118.9 million. Although there’s no immediate indication that he’ll be leaving Bayern, the club will undoubtedly work to avoid any future uncertainty surrounding his contract, especially as key players like Joshua Kimmich and Alphonso Davies approach free agency next summer.

For now, Musiala remains focused on his journey with Bayern, but Zirkzee’s efforts to bring him to Manchester United certainly add an interesting subplot to the future of one of football’s brightest young talents.
