BREAKING NEWS: Chelsea legend Drogba has sent a warning ⚠️ to Chelsea to do anything to bring victor Osimhen to Stamford Bridge during the summer or lose him forever as French giants Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) are reportedly lining up a move Victor Osimhen as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe who announced he would be leaving PSG at the end of the season. He said ” I have done my part in convincing him to join Chelsea which he agreed to, now it is left for Chelsea as a club to do their own part and get him. You lose him now u lose him ‘Osimhen’ forever”.
French powerhouse Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is reportedly eyeing a move for Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe in the upcoming summer transfer window. Osimhen, who has been on Chelsea’s radar, is now a prime target for numerous clubs, with PSG joining the pursuit. The Nigerian striker enjoyed a successful stint in France with Lille during the 2019-20 season before securing a move to Napoli for a record fee of around €80 million. His strong performances in Italy have now attracted interest from bigger clubs.
PSG has received confirmation from Kylian Mbappe that he will be departing the club after this season, prompting them to consider Osimhen as a potential replacement. Osimhen’s credentials are impressive, having won the Capocannoniere award as Napoli clinched their first Serie A title since 1990 last season. He netted 26 goals and provided five assists in 32 league appearances, earning recognition as the African Player of the Year for his contributions at club and international level.
Although Osimhen signed a new contract with Napoli in December, including a reported release clause of around €130 million, he indicated in a January interview that he has made a decision about his future, which will be unveiled in the summer.
Chelsea, initially believed to be leading the race for Osimhen’s signature, now face increased competition with PSG entering the fray. The financial allure and the opportunity to compete in the UEFA Champions League make PSG an attractive destination for the striker.
Meanwhile, Chelsea is actively restructuring their management team following the arrival of Todd Boehly and the Clearlake Group. The club is reportedly targeting Brighton & Hove Albion’s head of recruitment, Sam Jewell, to bolster their scouting setup. Chelsea previously acquired Paul Winstanley from another Premier League club in 2023 and intends to appoint Jewell as a global scouting director for both Chelsea and their sister club Strasbourg.
Chelsea’s swift pursuit of Jewell is prompted by concerns that Dan Ashworth may attempt to lure him to Manchester United if he joins the Red Devils. Recognizing Jewell’s value, Chelsea is eager to secure another Brighton employee to enhance their scouting department.
