Chelsea’s commitment to acquiring Estevao is evident, with the club’s technical director, Laurence Stewart, reportedly journeying to Sao Paulo in October to engage with Palmeiras president Leila Periera. The discussions centered around the possibility of signing Estevao, with the understanding that Palmeiras would only consent to his departure if the €60 million release clause was satisfied. Chelsea has reportedly concluded that Estevao warrants the payment of this substantial fee.
While Chelsea seems to be leading the race for ‘Messinho,’ both Barcelona and PSG expressed interest in securing his talents. In December, PSG’s Luis Campos communicated to Estevao’s representatives that the club would not meet his asking price.
