German media reports that Jonathan Tah is of interest to Chelsea.
The centre back for Bayer Leverkusen may finally get the Premier League transfer he has so desperately wanted. Tah supposedly submitted a transfer request in the summer and was connected to West Ham, but nothing came of it.
After Leverkusen struggled against the drop for the majority of the season, the player was ready to move on, probably not anticipating Xabi Alonso to turn them into title contenders. Tah has been a vital component of Leverkusen’s success this season despite his desire to leave the team.
Though the 27-year-old was highly regarded from an early age, he has frequently found it difficult to demonstrate his abilities. However, he has been able to hide his shortcomings and highlight his strengths—most notably his athleticism and passing ability—by playing in Leverkusen’s back three. In 2024, he’s probably going to make his move at last.

However, considering Tah’s respectable play this season, it’s almost unbelievable that no team will try to activate his incredible €18 million release clause. At present, the German player has an estimated transfer value (ETV) of €23 million.
Christian Falk of BILD speculates that Chelsea might be the team to activate his clause. The 39-year-old Thiago Silva’s contract expires at the end of the current campaign, and an extension appears unlikely, so the Blues are searching for a replacement. The reporter has verified that Chelsea is genuinely interested in the 27-year-old.
