Chelsea have agreed a deal to sign Corinthians wonderkid for €26 million, according to reports from Brazil. They beaten the likes of Arsenal and Manchester United to secure the signing of this young star.
Sensational reports from Brazil claim that Chelsea and Corinthians' wonderkid Gabriel Moscardo have agreed to a deal worth €26 million.
After making his breakthrough on the senior stage in South America, Moscardo, 18, has been linked to a Premier League team for a while. Arsenal and Liverpool are also interested in signing him.
Nevertheless, according to Corinthians presenter and former player Neto, Chelsea has apparently won the race to sign the midfield player.
In a video on YouTube, Neto disclosed that Moscardo’s transfer to Chelsea is set to cost €26 million. He also acknowledged that this transaction is the reason the teenage Brazilian was not on the field for Corinthians in their most recent game.
The agreement was announced in response to a report by Goal Brasil, which stated that Chelsea had offered €25 million for Moscardo, including bonuses. According to the report, that was expected to be knocked back, but it looks like Chelsea has struck a deal to sign one of the most promising young central midfielders in world football.
Moscardo has played for Corinthians for 23 of his senior seasons, and the rumoured €26 million would set a club record for the sale of the massive Brazilian team.
Moscardo would be the most recent wonderkid midfield player to join Chelsea in the previous season if that were to happen.
The club has added Conor Gallagher, Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, Lesley Ugochukwu, Carney Chukwuemeka, Cesare Casadei, Andrey Santos, and Alex Matos in the last three windows.
Both Cole Palmer and Christopher Nkunku, who were also signed during the most recent window, can play in attacking midfield.
In addition, two other talented Brazilians, Angelo Gabriel and Deivid Washington, also joined Chelsea this summer; however, Washington has not yet started a competitive game for the Blues, and Gabriel is currently on loan at Strasbourg.
