The Manchester United winger’s accusation of domestic abuse against his ex-girlfriend has reportedly been dropped by Brazilian police.

After 24-year-old Antony was charged by his ex-partner Gabriela Cavallin of insulting, abusing, and threatening her, the Sao Paulo police department opened an investigation.
However, more than a year after the accusation was filed, the police have wrapped up their investigation, according to FOOTBALLWAVE, since they could not find enough proof of Antony’s crime.

DJ Cavallin initially came up with her allegations in May 2023, when she appeared on the Brazilian channel TV Record and claimed that Antony had abused her the year before.
Cavallin stated, “He butted my head and made a cut. He also threw water on me and started kicking.”

Additionally, Cavallin had stated that Antony had imprisoned her in their house and refused to let her go.

In response to the allegations, Antony denied any misconduct and posted the following on Instagram: “For you, I wanted to speak publicly for the first time since I was falsely accused of assault,” he said after turning in his statement at the police station where my name is being investigated.I kept quiet throughout these days in order to prevent anything from getting in the way of the investigation, but my family and I suffered in silence.

“Even though I grew up in a very impoverished neighbourhood, I have never experienced anything like this, where a false assault accusation led to an unjust public verdict on the part of some.”Justice will be served and my innocence will undoubtedly be established once the investigation is concluded. The original harm done to my reputation will no longer exist.We are grateful for all of the kind letters we have received at this extremely trying time.
Greater Manchester Police in the UK are conducting a separate inquiry into Cavallin’s allegations that Antony attacked her four times, including once in June 2022 when she was pregnant.
Cavallin claimed that on January 15, 2023, in the Hyatt Regency hotel in Manchester, the former Ajax winger had assaulted her, causing damage to one of her breast implants. She further states that in June 2023, Antony hurled a glass at her, cutting her finger all the way to the bone.
This is still an ongoing study.
In September of last year, Antony was allowed to take a leave of absence by United after he was dropped from the Brazilian national squad due to allegations made against him in the UK.

After that, he went to a voluntary interview with Greater Manchester Police and then went back to Carrington to resume first-team training.
In March, Antony then made a tearful TV appearance in his native country, where he refuted all of the accusations brought against him.

“I know the truth and it will come out,” he said to the Brazilian TV station SBT. The truth always comes out, even if I know that many people are butchering me.

“I will present the evidence to prove that I have never touched a woman,” I will never assault someone, and I never have. I’m positive that I have never used physical force. I would never want this to happen to my mother or my sister.
