According to Sky Sports, Marcus Rashford has been banned from driving after being caught speeding at 104 mph in his £560,000 Rolls Royce. The 26-year-old Manchester United striker was stopped by undercover police while driving the 564-hp Cullinan Blue Shadow on the M60 freeway.
Rashford received a £1,666 fine, a six-month driving ban, and was ordered to pay £120 in court costs along with a £66 surcharge, as reported by HM Courts and Tribunals Service. This incident follows another crash involving one of his Rolls Royce vehicles just a few months prior to the December offense.
According to METRO, Rashford told the police officer who pulled him over that he was speeding because he thought a car was following him at a set of lights. The officer suggested that if he believed he was being followed, he should call 999. Rashford responded, “It happens all the time and I would be calling you every day.”
Off-the-field controversies have become a recurring issue for Rashford. Last season, he was dropped from the team by Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag for missing training to attend a party in Ireland. Rashford has faced a challenging year, struggling with his form on the pitch and losing his place in the England team.
