Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher believes Newcastle United’s Anthony Gordon would be an excellent addition to the club. The 23-year-old winger played in one game for England at Euro 2024, where they were defeated 2-1 by Spain in the final.
Gordon recorded 12 goals and 11 assists in 48 appearances for Newcastle across all competitions. Most of his contributions came in the Premier League, with 11 goals and 10 assists in 35 games. The England international is under contract with Newcastle until 2026 and has a market value of €60 million. Commenting on Gordon’s impact, Hamann said on Top Offshore Casinos (as per FOOTBALLWAVE):
“We’ve seen Anthony Gordon make a significant impact in the Premier League. He was impressive at Everton even during tough times, and after a challenging start at Newcastle, he has emerged as one of their best players.
I read somewhere that Liverpool is his boyhood club, and I think it would be a brilliant signing. Newcastle might need to sell some players this summer, depending on what happens with Salah.”
He added:
“For the past few years, it’s been said that each season is Salah’s last, and that he’ll leave in the summer. Gordon only played for a minute in England’s goalless group-stage draw with Slovenia during Euro 2024.
