BREAKING NEWS: Coming live from Fabrizio Romano, Manchester united first signing confirmed as PSG star will be joining Man UTD after the Euros. ” when i was told by my team that I was no longer needed it was devastating but Manchester united coming for me it’s a great privilege my promise to the fans is that I’m fully ready and I will give my all for that man UTD shirt”. As per reports, the former Sporting CP midfielder is set to leave the French champions this summer and is “close” to moving to Old Trafford. Move “done” – Man Utd agree asking fee to sign £50m star.
Manuel Ugarte’s transfer to Manchester United is nearing completion, with the club ready to agree on a fee with PSG for the midfielder. According to Diego Munoz, the former Sporting CP player is expected to leave the French champions this summer and is “close” to joining Old Trafford.
The Uruguayan journalist reported that Luis Enrique, PSG’s Spanish manager, has informed Ugarte that he should find a new club, and Manchester United is prepared to meet the asking price to secure his signing.
Munoz stated:
“He is close to United. Ugarte will not stay at PSG. Luis Enrique has already told him he will not be part of his plans.”
“He wasn’t comfortable with the team either, opening up opportunities. PSG wants to offload Ugarte to recoup part of their investment in the Uruguayan player, and Manchester United is willing to pay, making them his most likely future team.”
Last summer, PSG paid 60 million euros to sign Ugarte from Sporting CP and now seek a similar fee of around £50 million to let him go.
Munoz also noted that Manchester United faces little competition for Ugarte. Atletico Madrid is “very excited” about him, but PSG prefers a sale, while Atletico can only manage a loan deal. Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich also have interest but are proposing terms similar to Atletico, which PSG will not accept. Consequently, Ugarte is “close to United.”
