BREAKING NEWS: coming live from anfield, Liverpool urged by club legend to sign player who plays like Sadio Mane. Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has urged his former club to sign Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak. He has likened the Swedish striker to former Reds star Sadio Mane. He said “if Liverpool can get isak to anfield they will have on of their best season he’s so good that he reminds me of Sadio Mane. He will turn things around for Liverpool if they can secure his signature”. Liverpool urged to sign Premier league star Alexander Isak.
Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has encouraged his former club to pursue Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak, comparing the Swedish striker to former Reds star Sadio Mane.
Isak had an impressive 2023-24 season, scoring 25 goals in 40 appearances across all competitions for Newcastle. While Arsenal has shown interest in the striker as they look to bolster their attack, Fowler believes Liverpool should make a move for him. Additionally, Fowler mentioned Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins as another excellent potential signing. Speaking to Crypto Casino LTD, Fowler said:
“There are two players I would genuinely like to see at the club; Ollie Watkins and Alexander Isak. I think Watkins has just signed a new deal, but I’ve got a lot of time for him and I think he is brilliant. Isak, for me, reminds me of Sadio Mané as well. I don’t want to put things in people’s heads, but I think he would be a good fit as well.”
Fowler noted that Liverpool still feels the absence of Sadio Mane, and he sees similarities between Mane and Isak’s playing styles. Mane was crucial in forming a formidable attacking trio with Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah, contributing significantly to Jurgen Klopp’s Champions League and Premier League victories.
Regarding Mohamed Salah, Fowler expressed concerns about his performance in the latter half of the 2023-24 season. Despite this, he emphasized the importance of retaining Salah due to his contributions to Liverpool’s success over the years. Salah has scored 25 goals and provided 14 assists this season, despite rumors about his future as he enters the final year of his contract. There has been interest from the Middle East, but Fowler insists that Liverpool should keep their star winger. He stated:
“You cannot argue about what Mo (Salah) has done for Liverpool over the years. As with every football club, there are ifs and buts, but we have to remember that he has been injured for pretty much the first time in his career here and that has played a large part in people’s opinions on his future.”
“For me, he has not played well since January, but he’s still scored goals. For me, you have got to keep him, but there will be a point where he has to go. But that is the same for a lot of the players at the club currently and that happens in football.”
“Personally, I want him to stay and I want him to be successful because if he plays to his best then he is world-class and he can help the club win trophies. If he can return to being the player that we know he can, it’s an easy decision.”
Fowler’s comments highlight the need for Liverpool to strengthen their squad by potentially signing players like Isak and Watkins while also acknowledging the importance of key players like Salah in maintaining the team’s competitive edge.
