EXCLUSIVE NEWS: According to Fabrizio Romano Brentford are prepared to sit down with Arsenal to structure a deal that would take Ivan Toney to the Emirates, according to Ivan Toney he said ” joining Arsenal will be one of the biggest achievement and the biggest step in my football career, no doubt its not new I want to join Arsenal and now its happening I’m the happiest person on earth.”
FootballTransfers understands that Brentford is ready to negotiate with Arsenal to move Ivan Toney to the Emirates.
The Gunners are in the market for a top striker in 2024, and would ideally like to bring one in next month during the January transfer window.
Signing a proven number nine in January is challenging due to a lack of readily available funds.
But according to FootballTransfers, Brentford is willing to negotiate a deal with Arsenal that would see Toney paid in several installments.
This would make it possible for Arsenal to sign Toney for next month’s transfer fee.
Arsenal and Brentford get along well; in fact, this past summer, the two clubs conducted talks that resulted in custodian David Raya going on loan to the Emirates.
In order for a transfer to be successful, Arsenal would also need to pay Brentford what they want. FootballTransfers is aware that if Arsenal were willing to pay the entire amount up front, the price would drop to £55 million.
After finishing first in their Champions League group and advancing to the round of 16, where they will play Porto, the Gunners have just received £66 million.
Though they haven’t gotten all of the money yet, they plan to borrow against it. They will be able to participate in the January market thanks to this loan.
Several strikers for Arsenal in 2024 have been linked to the team, including Dominic Solanke, Dusan Vlahovic, and Victor Osimhen.
In the last few years, 27-year-old Toney has become one of the top English strikers; in 2022–2023, he scored an incredible 20 goals in the Premier League.
Having been capped once by the England national team, he hopes to earn a spot in the squad for next summer’s Euro 2024.
He will be allowed to play again next month despite his current ban for unlawful betting.
Since his Brentford contract expires in 2025, a transfer next year seems highly likely.
