Victor Osimhen of Napoli is available for a January transfer to Chelsea, and the Nigerian striker is prepared to press for a deal.
Osimhen is the Blues’ top priority for the upcoming transfer window, according to The Telegraph, and he is anticipated “to be open to a move to Stamford Bridge.”
In September, FootballTransfers exclusively disclosed that Chelsea was making a strong push to sign Osimhen, surpassing Arsenal in the pursuit of the striker.
Despite Nicolas Jackson’s six goals in 12 Premier League games for Chelsea, questions remain regarding the Senegal international forward’s overall skill set. Jackson joined the team in the summer from Villarreal.
With 26 goals in 32 Serie A appearances while helping Napoli win the Scudetto the previous season, Osimhen, 24, is viewed as the solution to their center-forward woes.
His contract is now only 18 months away, and negotiations have been deadlocked for a few weeks.
Although Napoli has stated again that they want to keep the Nigerian, they will probably have to sell by the end of the summer at the latest. For the club, it is unimaginable that he would sign a free agent contract in the summer of 2025.
